DREAMiNG 03:29
I lie awake for hours Argue with the powers Playing with my mind Never find the answers Voice is getting weaker Getting left behind But I dream, you dream In the end it's all dreams Nothing very real And we dream, they dream Living out our day dreams Pretending that we feel I dream, you dream In the end it's all dreams We dream, they dream Living out our daydreams I sleepwalk through the years Pinning back my fears Running out of time I dream, you dream In the end it's all dreams We dream, they dream Living out our daydreams Pretending that we feel Pretending that we feel Pretending that we feel

Who do we blame When this all turns sour? Who should we nail to the tree? Where does the buck stop When it all crashes down? Who's gonna take one for the team? Who'll be left To clear up this mess? Who carries the can? Who'll be left To clear up this mess When it all falls apart at the seams?

SiNNERS 02:27
We're living in the days Of apostasy There's nothing left For us to see We've fucked it all Through our own greed No more heroes No more creed We're living in the days Of atrophy There's no-one left For us to heed Too late to change So let it be We've gone beyond Beyond belief
15.
PAiN 03:25

about

SOCIALiSM – the new album by Welsh electronauts Outside Broadcast – is a musical exploration of the trauma of being human in an increasingly ‘socially distanced’ self-centred consumerist and technologically obsessed world.
Following on the heels of their 2020 debut ‘Modality’, ‘Earth Calling’ and last year’s ‘Mrs Windsor’s Island (Soundtrack)’, their fourth album is the first post pandemic lockdown release and boasts 18 tracks including the singles SANCTUARY, FAiTH, MACHiNE and DREAMiNG.
The title SOCIALiSM references the pandemic language of ‘social distancing’ as well as the band’s challenging socialist values and messaging, more overt here than on any of their previous releases.
Originally planned to release with a red star against the red background for the cover, this was changed at the 11th hour when Putin’s invasion of Ukraine began because Russia still uses the worldwide socialist symbol on its military machines despite abandoning socialist principles a century ago and Outside Broadcast wanted no association with the brutal and illegal act of war.
“It’s a kind of extended love song to our pro-social philosophies. We’re definitely in the ‘end times’ of a very broken capitalist system that isn’t working for most of the population on our endangered planet and things clearly need to change…urgently!
“SOCIALiSM with a small ‘i’ can be seen as the opposite of capital ‘I’ ism, but the irony is the devastating conclusion and consequences of unchecked capitalism could actually be mitigated through socialism and the fight for world-wide social justice. Socialism could actually make capitalism less harmful and less destructive to our planet and human health!
“During the pandemic it became clear that ‘social distancing’ was harmful to human health and well-being, hence the term ‘physical distancing’ was eventually adopted, but ‘social distancing’ is something that’s been happening for a much longer thanks to so-called progress in tech, social media and the pace of living in our modern throw-away consumerist world.
“SOCIALiSM is our most eclectic album to date. It’s still electronic at heart, but celebrates a very diverse range of styles and influences including psychedelic pop, folk, darkwave industrial, techno, ambient and progressive house.
“There’s also a great deal more lyrical content, exploring the concepts of ‘social distance’ and social inclusion, as well as the tensions in holding true to unpopular but essential ideology for change.”

about

Outside Broadcast Wales, UK

Little is known about the Welsh-based electronauts - how many or who they are - but they describe their music as "eclectic electronica with a message" and " prog rock on synths with a bedroom producer punk ethic".

They shun personal publicity and prefer the focus to be on their music and their band identity, claiming they are astral projections from distant stars with a message for humanity.
