WELSH electronauts Outside Broadcast have joined forces with Russian folk singer Evguenia Ratsouk for their captivating and haunting new single FAiTH – which will be released on 22-02-2022.
The song – which seamlessly blends Celtic harp arpeggios, classic analogue electronica and hip-hop 808 rhythms with Russian folk style melody and lyrics – provides a bittersweet reflection on the struggle of keeping faith…in people, in love and in maintaining ideological perspectives in an ever-changing world.
FAiTH is the second release from Outside Broadcast’s new album SOCIALiSM, anticipated for self-release before the summer. Described as ‘eclectic electronica with strong political messaging’ including tracks such as previous single SANCTUARY, REVOLUTiON, PAiN and another vocal collaboration with Evguenia called ACCOUNTABiLiTY.
“Working with Evguenia’s talents has been uplifting,” say Outside Broadcast. “Our music can be quite dark as it’s a timely warning to humanity about the impacts of inequality, intolerance and a lack of care for each other and for the planet.
“The album is a musical exploration of our ongoing crusade for international social justice, including the struggle to maintain BELiEF (another of the tracks). Evguenia’s beautiful lyrics, melody line and tone are effectively the album’s ‘love song’ to our own FAiTH.
“While much of SOCIALiSM will be true to form for us, FAiTH and our previous single SANCTUARY provide the album with a truly hopeful conclusion.”
